Rv Inspection from the past

I recently had the opportunity to inspect this nice new Thor Freedom Traveler Class A. My customers had already purchased this particular RV and started noticing issues with the RV almost immediately.

They decided that they wanted a full inspection done to see if there were any other issues that they hadn't noticed. They wanted some peace of mind no one that a NRVIA certified Inspector had gone through the entire unit. If there were any other issues then they also wanted a list they could provide the dealership to take care of.

This is considered a major issue. Along the bottom cap of the rear wall, there was no sealant or butyl installed during the manufacturing process. This leaves the entirety of the rear wall, at the bottom, susceptible to water intrusion and water damage. Without sealant in place this allows water to simply run down the rear wall and directly into the cap that is supposed to protect the bottom of the wall.

There was another issue with the sealant on the roof where the front cap meets the roofing material. There were a couple of large gaps in the ceiling which would allow for water to penetrate as well.

There was a furnace circulation vent installed in the wall between the living area and the bathroom. This vent circulates warm air from the living area into the restroom. When the furnace comes on the small fan inside the circulation vent turns on as well. This circulation vent was not installed properly which caused the fan blades to come in contact with the vent assembly creating an awful grinding noise.

The doorstop that is located inside the track of the pocket door between the bedroom and the living area was loose and not attached at all. Was just floating freely inside the track which did not allow the pocket door to properly latch in the closed position.

There were a couple of other issues that were very minor and mostly cosmetic. The few issues that I listed above are just examples of Issues that may be present on even a brand new RV. These are just a couple of other reasons why a third party RV inspection is a good idea. We don't do these inspections to catch the seller or dealership in a "gotcha" moment. We do this to make sure that our customers make an informed decision. If there are issues then they can be addressed prior to the customer taking possession of the RV. All this does is ensure that the customers experience is a good one all around. This works out for the customer and the dealership. If you find yourself in the market for a new RV or travel trailer and that new RV happens to be in the Flagstaff, Prescott or any part of Arizona for that matter then be sure to get a hold of us. Be happy to take care of that RV inspection for you.
